On 'Bargaining in Central Asia'
Biography: Alisher Faizullaev, D.Sc., PhD., is a scholar, writer and former diplomat. He was appointed as a Professor in the Department of Practical Diplomacy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2005, and Director of the Negotiation Laboratory at UWED in 2008. Previously he served as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom (1999-2003) and the First Rector of UWED (2003-2005). He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University and the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University (2011-2012), as well as a Visiting Scholar at McGill University (2014), Cambridge University (2005) and Western Washington University (1992).
As a diplomat, he also served as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium (1995-98); Head of Mission of Uzbekistan to the European Communities (1995-98); Head of Mission of Uzbekistan to Euro Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC)/North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (1995-98); Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Netherlands and Luxembourg with the residency in Brussels, Belgium/ (1997-98).
