Cambridge Central Asia Forum (CCAF) is an interdisciplinary forum established by academic faculty members of the University of Cambridge and based at Jesus College, Cambridge. CCAF was established in 2001 and is closely linked to the Centre for Development Studies, University of Cambridge. The primary purpose of CCAF is to collate Cambridge’s scholarly activities in Central Asia and the Caucasus and to raise the interest of the best interdisciplinary minds to engage in research in the region. A further key activity is to promote bi-lateral academic relations between Central Asia and the United Kingdom; it aims both to promote research within existing disciplines, in the arts and sciences, social sciences, engineering and medicine, and to encourage new interdisciplinary research on Central Asia and Eurasia. CCAF’s management committee is chaired by Professor Lord Robert Mair FRS, and CCAF is directed by Dr Siddharth Saxena, a principal scientist at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge and a Fellow-Commoner of Jesus College.
