Navroz 2017

Cambridge Central Asia Forum in collaboration with the Cambridge University Kazakhstan Society, Cambridge University Uzbekistan Society and the Centre of Development Studies organised 'Navroz', the occasion of coming of Spring and New Year celebrated by the countries of Central Asia and beyond in the ancient Chapel in Jesus College in the University of Cambridge. The event was sponsored by Jesus College, Embassy of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan to the UK on this occasion. This year the cultural program proudly included dance and musical performances from the countries of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The event was attended by Ambassadors from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, and the Head of Mission of Tajikistan along with colleagues and students from the University of Cambridge and members of the public from Cambridge and London. The cultural program was followed by food from the region provided generously by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
