Research in Action Workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan 12-14 April 2023, British Management University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan 

The workshop brought together leading experts, policy, academic, diplomatic, business community to discuss and debate on the current transformation processes taking place globally and their impact on Central Asia and the need for people to adapt to economic, social and technological terms through practising cross-cutting cultural and technical skills. The programme was multidisciplinary with a focus on academic research and policy projects to reflect recent changes in the multidimensional world. During the sessions researchers shared their overviews on research outcomes, project design, methodologies, working in the field and writing conceptually, constructing theories and writing research projects. The aim of the workshop was to have open discussions, feedback and interactive discussions through a multi-faceted learning experience across all partner institutions and networks.

This Tashkent edition follows from nearly a decade old tradition of Research in Action workshops previously held in Cambridge, London, Bukhara, Astana, Almaty and Baku. A cohort of Cambridge students: MPhil students from the Centre of Development Studies and the Centre for South Asian Studies as well as PhD students from several university departments attended meeting.
