Panel Discussion on 'Development Damlyama', 30 July 2020
UKRI GCRF COMPASS, Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge and Cambridge Central Asia Forum, Jesus College, University of Cambridge organised a Panel Discussion on 'Development Damlyama: Reflecting on Development Aid Cooperation Paradigms in Central Asia' with Dr K. Kluczewska, Dr L. Lombardozzi, Dr U. Majidi, and S. Mowlds. The moderator was Dr S S Saxena, Director, Cambridge Central Asia Forum, Jesus College, University of Cambridge and discussants: Dr D. T. Kudaibergenova, PDRA, GCRF COMPASS, Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge & P. Kalra, Affiliated Lecturer, Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge. The panel answered a number of questions on civil society in Central Asia and the role of international aid organisations, European Union and UN related agencies. The focus was on locating and discussing the mismatch between the needs of the local population and the agenda and demands of international organisations. The event was attended by over 50 people.
